DAV Chapter 137, Greater North Dallas, is dedicated to serving veterans in our community. We provide resources and support to help veterans navigate VA benefits and improve their quality of life.
It is with a heavy heart that Chapter 137 says goodbye, farewell, and meet you in Heaven, to the heart of our chapter, past commander, Mr. Hal Ammons. Hal was the guiding force for our chapter for many years. Hal is the reason 137 does what we do, the way that we do it. He was a Vietnam Veteran, proudly having served in the 1st Cavalry Division. He was a substitute teacher for Quest Academy, helping to provide structure and discipline to the kids that need it most. Services for Hal will be on January 8th, and internment will be January 13th. Please email commander@davchapter137.org for times and locations.
Rest easy, Hal, Chapter 137 has the watch. Sir!

Monthly business meetings are held the 1st Saturday of every month at 10 am except holidays. When the 1st Saturday is on a Holiday weekend, the business meeting will be on the 2nd Saturday at 10 am. Call if you have any questions regarding your claim or join us at any of our meetings or workshops. We're here to help. All of our claims writers are volunteers, which allows us to keep services free to all honorably discharged veterans and their families.
Claims workshops are the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Thursday of every month* from 10-3. A volunteer can be reached by phone or email. Appointments are available by calling (972)292-8774.
*Clinics will be cancelled in the case of inclement weather.
We want to meet you in person! We are looking for locations in Collin, Hunt, or Rockwall county to hold evening claims clinic workshops. If your organization is interested in hosting a workshop, please reach out to claims@davchapter137.org or call/text 972-292-8774.
